Introduction to Islamabad King Sejong Institute (IKSI) The Islamabad King Sejong Institute was established in September 2012 with the aim of promoting Korean language and culture in Pakistan. It was founded by the King Sejong Institute Foundation in collaboration with Human Resources Development Service of Korea and with the active support of National University of Modern Languages. As the only King Sejong Institute operating in Pakistan, IKSI serves as a leading center for Korean language education and cultural exchange. The institute offers a wide range of Korean language courses, from beginner to advanced levels, enabling students to develop proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking Korean. In addition to language instruction, IKSI regularly organizes cultural activities, speech contests, workshops, seminars, and exchange programs to enhance understanding of Korean culture and strengthen people-to-people ties between Pakistan and South Korea. In 2018, IKSI was granted the status of an Independent Institute and was recognized as the “Best Operating Institute” by the King Sejong Institute Foundation. Through its highly qualified local and native Korean faculty members, modern learning facilities, and student-centered educational environment, IKSI continues to provide quality Korean language education to learners from diverse backgrounds. The institute also plays an important role in preparing and training individuals seeking educational, professional, and employment opportunities related to Korea, thereby contributing to stronger educational, cultural, and economic relations between Pakistan and South Korea. Guided by its mission to bridge linguistic and cultural gaps, IKSI remains committed to fostering mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation between the two nations.
